Cinderella could be a chavista if she wanted to
La Patilla brings the latest rage in capitalo-revolutionary shoes. With even models in red for when you march in the streets to support your beloved leader's fight against capitalism and consumerism. Start at a very popular price for "el pueblo" of a mere 67.50 USD. I suppose it is for El Pueblo in Marin County malls.... (Hat tip Caro).

ReplyDeleteCount the stars... :D
Plus, when I clicked on the shoe shown in the picture on the post, it suggested "other products you might like" such as this t-shirt http://www.zazzle.com/venezuela_flag_shoes-167437722953791318
Bwahahaha!
Un coup de pied au cul oui!
ReplyDelete$67.50 USD for this pair of shoes? Are you kidding me? What a rip-off.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely a CAPITALIST company.:)
Please let us hope that Chavez's image does not truly become iconic like Che's and we have to see it on banners and T-shirts for another 50 years.
ReplyDeleteRoy, I think that's exactly it. They are pushing hard to create a symbol, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteI thought that when I saw his action figure some time ago, now these things.
I wonder, who buys these "esperpentos" online and for so much money???
One needs a Thai attitude in this situation. Thai people consider the foot to be the dirtiest and lowliest part of the body, and the head the most respected and highest part of the body. So with that attitude Chavez is in his right place.
ReplyDeleteCharly - my husband's comment: "It would be good to wear while you are stepping in dog shit!!!
ReplyDeleteThere you go.
Soon, her slippers will be gold plated thanks to the "shrinkage" on the gold that Hugo is bringing home.
ReplyDeleteHave Chavez image on kid diapers.
ReplyDeleteOops!
If we attend a press conference by Chavez, do we get to throw those shoes at him?

There is a lot of kick-back money in those shoes. Someone is paying $67.50 for a bunch of sneakers that cost <$10 to manufacture so that some Chavista can wear Guccis.
And let's have a thought for the indentured labor that stitched these shoes in the communists paradises of china or vietnam.
ReplyDeleteDaniel, communists paradises of china or vietnam??? This is the wild wild capitalist West (and indeed West of the USA, it is only the Far East in European eyes)
ReplyDeleteChavez, Every Step of the Way
ReplyDeleteThey cost about 1.50 to make.
ReplyDeleteEvery marimacho chavista has
probably already bought one...
charly
ReplyDeleteirony is my middle name....
welcome Fausta's readers!
ReplyDeleteThe capitalist that made these communist shoes did not count the stars properly.
ReplyDeleteGood one Glenn! That's hilarious! I like your too Firepigette. Hehe
ReplyDeleteTheo whole thing is just plain cheesy..
1979BP, perhaps one could say Chavez has already left his mark of nearly every kid diaper world-wide...
ReplyDeleteGlenn, the one you see in the picture has 8 stars, you just can't see them all from that angle. Follow the link and check the top and front views. (I made the same observation, and checked it out to be sure.) Other Venezuela models have seven...and no Hugo. True capitalists are happy to play both sides of the aisle.
Every American citizen that buys these shoes also voted for Obama. Every single one.
