No CSI in Caracas

A post-less week followed by three in a day.  But the latest pearly hit of the brightly dissociated capybara deserves a post.  In it Chavez is using the argument that there are at least 5 CSI in the US and none in Caracas.  Thus the US is way more dangerous than Venezuela.  So there....

Venezuela has more specialists in crime scene cover-up than any other country on the planet. A red shirt is like a get-out-of-jail=free card.

Perhaps Thugo could also argue that the US is more dangerous because there are more CONVICTIONS per capita/per 100,000 for murder in the US than in Venezuela. [I don't know if there are or not, but the percentage of murder cases that result in convictions is definitely higher in the US than in Venezuela.]

  3. Comparing countries stupidly seems to be a hobby of many to make any point they want to make, and the strange thing is that many fall for it.

  4. We also have more insane asylums and some of the worlds largest missile fields.....

Don't worry, we can handle it, usually, unless it's dark and chilly and we're feeling unusually low.

Nothing to see here, be about your business.

I think almost every state has a CSI unit to investigate crimes. It is a way to gather evidence and find the criminal. Isn't that better than having a police force that is difunctional or doesn't do due diligence in solving crimes? Also Hugo is comparing apples to oranges, as the US is a much bigger country then his own, no?

    Thanks....

If,...I repeat, 'if' this is true it changes the whole complexion of Venezuelan politics. There is simply no way that Hugo Chavez can run for President in October. No way. Again, look at the poll numbers of Caprilles vs (...anyone but Chavez). They would be doomed in October. But is it true? I dunno. But it surely bears close watching.

Venezuela has strongly rejected the European Union's decision on Tuesday to prohibit the South American country's state airline from flying into European airports due to safety concerns.

Venezuela's foreign ministry says the decision preventing Conviasa from flying into the EU is unfair and unwarranted.

In a regular update of its blacklist, the European Commission said earlier Tuesday that Conviasa is being placed on because of "numerous safety concerns arising from accidents and the results of ramp checks at EU airports."
