A bitter day for us civilized people...
Brito is dead.
The country is collapsing as the latest scandal is exploding due to Chavez own idiocy: spotlight on the awful mismanagement of state public hospitals.
Their is a renewed wave of electrical power outages while we are told, cynically that it is all over, that Guri is full.
The other scandals keep apace, from crime to lack of food and clear proof that food production has been dropping sometimes catastrophically.
And what does the regime do?
It unearths the bones of the sister of Simon Bolivar to check out on their DNA to make sure that Bolivar is the guy really buried at the Pantheon.
Fuck you!

Fuck him indeed! It's really time for people to get angry, really angry. Furious and pissed off! Enough is enough! La concha de su madre! No time for gentlemen and gentlewomen anymore!
ReplyDeleteMy sense of outrage is matched only by your final statement.
ReplyDeleteI am outraged by the destructive, deceitful and corrupt government.
Venezuela was once a "fair" land with great expectations. What happened to its people that they permit and accept this degeneracy.
No one has power over me unless I give it to them. Where are the proud Venezuelans? Do they know what they have acceded to?
May God have mercy on all our souls. The people when they understand will not. If there is even the slightest hint of election unfairness I would not want to be a member of this administration.
This government has been dead for a very long time, perhaps with the death of this good man, Brito, the government will have the wit to stiffen (rigor).
i know you are angry, and annoyed, to say the least: but Daniel, que haces haciendo que te hierva la sangre asi?
ReplyDeletethis cannot be good for your own health!!!
I am very sorry this is happening, and believe I would not wish anything more than for him to just vanish, but honestly, what good does is it for you to be this angry!
:(

ReplyDeleteA blog is also for venting. tomorrow I will be fine. Well, as fine as one can be be in this joint.
I have come to the unfortunate conclussion that we Venezuelans have an enormous threshold to get outraged. For lots less than this, governments in other Latam countries have failed, pacifically or otherwise, but not in my country
ReplyDeleteCould it be that they could not find the evidence in Simon's body of the poisoning that they were so sure of proving? Now they may need to say that this is not actually his body to save face. But then, who will prove that the sisters' bodies are actually correct? It should provide at least some level of distraction away from the daily problems for the more morbid chavista tombwatchers up until and possibly after the elections.
ReplyDeleteIncreasingly, Venezuelans are being short-changed, harmed, ridiculed, fooled and banished - and yet for the most part are being as compliant as penned sheep.
ReplyDeleteFar worse for the health and quite pretentious really is to :
1. lie and pretend things are not worthy of our anger
2. to keep on tolerating the intolerable
That is what is so unhealthy
Anger at what the government did to Mr. Brito is a reality-oriented response. The government did indeed F%$#% him over. As we say in the US, pardon my French. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat to do with that anger I leave to those both wiser than I and better acquainted with the day to day realities of Venezuela.
it is a sorry day
