Week end in Salvador

Well, it seems that I did the right move by taking the week end off and enjoy the Baroque wonders of Pelourinho. Nothing much in Venezuela except for the indecent electoral spending from the government for its campaign, continuous repartition of "gifts", etc, etc... Nothing new there really except for the scale at which this is done this time. Whoever wins next Sunday will have a financial problem to solve. Devaluation any one?

The opposition has done the campaign it could, with the meager means it had. One thing I have noticed is the proliferation of leftist message trying to desperately drum up international support for Chavez. From letters to the French newspaper Liberation, letters apparently published as if they were articles and with significant "omissions" to hate mail in the mail box of yours truly. If I did not have to relay on Cyber cafes it would be fun to explore these leftist zines and sites to check out what they are up to in more detail.

El Universal, though, published an almost apologetic article from Datanalisis giving a possible NO victory. The explanaitions given were rather clumsy and the only conclusion that one can take, written already in this blog more than once, is that accurate polls are impossible in the present situation in Venezuela. Datanalisis is trying to be in good terms with all and only end up being ridiculous. But that is OK: the real poll is barely six days away.

Only one week
until the Recall Election
on Hugo Chavez.

Do I want him out?
SI!
