General Uson gets 5 years

As a follow up of my post on military justice in Venezuela, General Uson got 5 years and a half of jail for "insulting" the Venezuelan Army on TV. A sign of what will happen if the "gag law" is finally approved in the National Assembly? Well, at least censorship is swift and expedient in military justice in Venezuela. In some gossip column I read a few months ago that one of the "military judges" was a strong candidate to reach the new and expanded High Court......

And of course, this blogger is justified in wondering whether the glorious venezuelan armed forces are reading blogs in English.... Naahh! Who cares about bloggers in Venezuela!?
