The Boston Globe listens to Venezuelans

A few days ago the Boston Globe published a rather awful editorial on Venezuela, on how cool it was to get subsidized oil in Massachusetts. Well, apparently there was some flack and they published as a letter to the editor the letter written by yours truly.

They did edit it some, for example removing my outrage as a Liberal, but that is OK. At least the gist is there, and the Boston Globe deserves kudos for publishing rebuttals to their editorials, something that the NYT, mesmerized by pro Chavez Forero, is unable to do. Then again the NYT is loosing glamour whereas other papers are gaining luster. But this blogger will not insist on how he used to be a faithfull subscriber of the NYT just to ignore it on every matter except when a faithful rader points out some gross article on Venezuela. There was a time when the first thing I did landing in the US was to buy the latest NYT issue. I have not bought the NYT in three years now, and rediscovered the joys of the local press. Today's action by the Globe confirms that indeed the local press is more alive than the NYT, and certainly more intellectually honest. Oh well.....

It also proves that if you keep writing often, and good, non hysterical letters, you will get published. But not in the NYT of course.
