... and Weil nails them today.
Screaming Pro Chavez Marcher (May 1st parade?): In the other governments we had no right to housing nor to jobs
Anchor Person: Do you have housing?
SPCM: No
AP: A job?
SPCM. Neither
This is the result of 12 years of brain washing: utter disconnection with reality.
And I am sorry if this is not P.C. but my patience is running thin., and thus I just loved, LOVE$D this cartoon. Just as I am calculating the new business costs of the labor law which are NOT going to go in the pockets of workers, as usual, by the way, courtesy among other things to inflation and insecurity. But who am I to emit an opinion? How can I possibly know that there will be even less jobs and consequently even less housing?

I am not going to bother reading it until it is finally published. Then I'll have no choice :)
Delete"So many chavistas are idiots"
ReplyDeleteAs it'd been pointed out before, being a chavista isn't so much about how much the government has given to the poor, but about how much it has taken away from the "oligarchy" (and given that to the "boligarchy").
In other words, it isn't about helping chavistas, but about hurting those who aren't chavistas. A simple-minded revenge fantasy. Nothing more and nothing less.
Hate is spelled C H A V E Z.
DeleteIt is so bad that Chavez has to invent things to hate. Well, everytime he hates someone, he loses a vote.
It's amazing how much a given discourse (over time) can resonate with certain people. I can recall a 1984 U.S. political cartoon that basically said the same thing - a voter who was telling a pollster he was going to vote for Reagan even though he said just about everything in his life was worse than in 1980.
ReplyDeleteOf course, this cartoon adds the layer of how ridiculous it is to think of housing or employment as a "right." I think someone may have said something on this blog before to that effect... http://daniel-venezuela.blogspot.com/2007/09/chavez-new-constituion-article-87.html
For the life of me I cannot recall....

"This is the result of 12 years of brain washing: utter disconnection with reality". Oh really? or isn't it rather that by a combination of nature and nurture they were already morons when they came out of childhood? They won't fare any better under a HCR government.
