Paying for a little bit of self promotion

Not me, Eva Golinger. Since the article is in French I will oblige and give you the fun parts below.

The best excuse I can find is that she did not like as much as she thought she would the NYT report of Simon Romero. So she did what any "femme forte" would do, hire a pen to write an heroic report on her life. Choice excerpts:

-"promise à une brillante carrière d’avocate" promising a brilliant legal career. Alek Boyd has long ago told us that she was a small time pseudo lawyer who went to try her luck in Venezuela...... (care to send the links Alek?)

- "Je ne pouvais pas me taire, j’ai senti l’obligation de transmettre ces preuves à Chávez" I could not remain silent, I felt obliged to pass this evidence to Chavez. A little bit of delirium here, forgetting herself that she got through Chavez after working for the Venezuelan embassy propaganda section.... but like Chavez, she is not above rewriting the epic of her life.

- I will pass on the delightful moments she spent with Ahmadinejerk, Lukashit and the murderer of Tripoli which prove that she is even more of a dingbat than I thought she was already.

- "Je ressens un instinct de protection envers le Venezuela, ce pays a été attaqué pendant des siècles" I feel a protection instinct toward Venezuela, a country which has been attacked through centuries. Has the bimbo ever read a real book on Venezuelan history? Is she aware that Venezuela is the lone country in the continent that did not participate in any world war or major regional conflict, was never invaded after its independence and had only to suffer a provisional harbor blockade because it did not pay its debt to so many countries that in a rare allaiance of colonial powers they all got togehter to force payment from Venezuela. And,by the way, it was the US that saved Venezuela from the worst then....  Whatever damage Venezuela suffered (the loss of territory) was due to its caudillos more interested in robbing the state coffers than protecting the country, EXACTLY what is happening to day as Venezuela under Chavez gave up on its Guyana claim and is about to lose Los Monjes to Colombia......

- "Il ne sait pas dire non: les gens lui demandent une maison, il la leur donne" [Chavez] does not know how to say No: people ask him a house and he gives it to them. That one leaves me speechless. That woman has gotta be on crack.

And the interviewer kindly reveals to us that some "muse" (bitch?) in France has bought movie rights from her life.

People like Golinger, if they did not exist already we could not make them up....

  1. This sweetheart of Venezuela, Eva, must suffer from the secret fear that people might discover just how needy she is.Maybe they think she is "selling" her affections for some kind of security, which in her case appears to be the strength of the Leader. Basically a very common feminine type, she takes it all to such extremes and runs the risk of scraping the bottom of the barrel for a few crumbs of love.If she gets more in touch with her feelings, and recognizes her love-addiction then she might start self expressing a bit more, instead of just expressing her love for Venezuela and Chavez.

She claims: "I feel a protection instinct toward Venezuela,"hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

She seems to work so hard for Chavez and " Venezuela" , at least for her idolized image of it, but I wonder if folks will be grateful for all her sacrifices?

I hate to see anyone humiliate themselves for a little affection, seriously.

"[...] was never invaded after its independence [...]"

Well, that depends on how you characterize the Machurucuto Incident ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machurucuto_Incident ). And in that case, Cuba was the aggressor, not the US.

well, true, if if you go to small little incidents....

but you are right, the only time venezuela was invaded was by cuba; and the only time venezuela became a colony of a foreign power it was also to cuba.....

I've seen a Swedish book presenting Hugo Chavez as the new savior in Venezuela, promoting a revolution in Latin America.

You can find apologist of anything, in any place on earth.

  6. And now I had a revelation, just from her quotes alone; poor Ms. Gollinger is having a severe case of Crying White Woman syndrome, seeing us as poor savages struggling to get over our Very Bad Circumstances and needing a (Mulatto) Messiah to free us of our misery.
So the lady is really viewing us under the privilege of being a White Rich American woman, and us, in her eyes, are the poor savages oppressed and oppressed and in need to be aided on free from Teh Oppression. And since there is nothing more deluded that a Privileged White Person with White Guilt (albeit in this case I suspect more of White Burden), I'm not surprised at all how easy they can be charmed by el micomandante. And if she can get a profit, how better!

With all due respect, La Gollilera can go fuck herself and roll in the very shit she is speaking. As trolls of the Internet would say: Cry more, you crazy diamond! You're so funny, never change!

Perhaps you could start with this one Daniel:

    Los Guisos de Eva Golinger

Funny you would write about her now. Not two days ago I wrote about Andres Izarra, who, ultimately, is the person responsible to have brought to Venezuela that joke of a lawyer and activist. Just to be certain, Golinger did not have a brilliant, nor promising, legal career in her homeland. She was nothing more than a paper pusher in her mummy's immigration law firm. She started doing 'legal' work for Izarra at the Venezuela Information Office in 2003, passed the BAR in NY in 2005. By then she was already 'promoted' to propagandist, publishing books in Cuba (WTF?) and effectively landed in Venezuela in that year, 2005. Having gotten a Venezuelan citizenship through fraudulent methods, by 2006 she was living in a Bs 400 million flat in Alta Florida....

Brilliant lawyer she ain't. Brilliant carpetbagger? For sure. Only in Chavez's Venezuela can such a deficient person made a mark, and be considered important.

  9. She sometimes appears in the U.S. on college campuses spreading her politically transmitted diseases. She's simply another useful idiot in a long line of useful idiots...
