Le bowl de cheries

Life can be a bowl of cherries.

Granted, it does not happen that often but it can happen.  It does not need to be a the Ritz Carlton of Maui, it does have to happen in the splendors of Alaska's wilderness.

But a real bowl of French cherries, in season, next to a chaise on a balcony overlooking a small resort town street, with your kindle at hand, on a very mild summer afternoon....  well, it does not get better than that.

The more so if it has been 2 decades since I was last time in summer in France.

Enjoy Daniel, nothing like a good bowl of cherries here in Montreal, except it comes from California.

  2. I don't like cherry. it tastes like medicine, like "tachipirin".
And i dont know what summer is.
In Maracaibo, theres only one season called "OMGITSSOHOTOUTSIDERUNFORCOVER".

But i get your point Daniel. Enjoy france, and wine, and food. It's all about the food, anywhere you go.

  4. Take long enough.
You haven't been to France in years and you arrived now? Pity, this week we have had rather cloudy skies in most of Western Europe, the week before it was very warm and sunny. Still: for goodness sake, try also to enjoy walking next to nature, next to those beautiful cultivated fields. I know nature proper is not as exuberant as Venezuela's but the rural landscape of France has its advantages. You can go on walks for a long time without being afraid of snakes or roberies.
Enjoy all those little specialities du terroir.

  6. Life has so many mysteries.I hadn't thought of the expression"life is just a bowl of cherries" for years. Then yesterday my grandson asked me why his great grandfather always said" My life is just a bowl of cherries,What does that mean?"I replied that usually people say it sarcastically to mean the opposite.

Then I get home to see this expression on your blog.

Your post reminded me of this quote:
"Summer afternoon, summer afternoon; to me, those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language." -Henry James

    Enjoy!
